Valentine’s Eve Done Right 🍕❤️

Sometimes the best date nights are the ones you don’t plan.

Friday called, we answered

After a long day of work, we were chatting on the phone and just knew: we were not cooking tonight. Valentine’s Day was tomorrow, but why wait? I threw on my jacket and met up with Tucker at Malcolm Yards, one of our favorite food hall spots in Minneapolis right near the U.

The important food details

We went straight for Wrecktangle pizza (if you haven’t tried it yet, what are you even doing?) and split some vegetable dumplings that honestly did not last long enough. There’s something about a casual Friday dinner with good food and zero dishes to wash that just hits different 🍕

The part that got us in the feels

Malcolm Yards on a Friday night is buzzing. Families everywhere, kids running between tables, parents juggling plates and strollers. We love that energy. We sat there watching it all and couldn’t help imagining bringing Baby Besel here someday. Sharing a slice, letting them people-watch, maybe sneaking one more dumpling before tiny hands grab them all 😊

That’s the thing about this wait. The big moments are hard, sure. But it’s the little ones, like a random Friday pizza night, where you can just picture it so clearly. A high chair pulled up to the table. Sauce on a tiny face. Our little family of 3 (okay, 5, counting the dogs who would be very jealous they didn’t come) just hanging out on a Friday night ❤️

Those are the moments we’re holding onto.
