Bacon Cheeseburgers and Zoomies 🐾🏅
Monday nights in our house have a rhythm, and honestly it’s one of my favorite parts of the week.
The speed round
Tucker got home and somehow turned a box of mac and cheese into bacon cheeseburger mac and cheese in like twenty minutes. The man does not believe in a boring weeknight dinner 😄 We inhaled it while half-watching the Olympics because we had places to be. Nothing like shoveling cheesy pasta into your face while someone on TV does a flawless triple axel (or whatever was on, we were eating too fast to fully register).
Kona’s big night
Monday is agility night, and Kona takes it very seriously. Well, she takes it seriously when she’s on the course. Between runs? Total chaos. Every single dog in class was losing their minds tonight because we’ve had this gorgeous false spring weather and apparently 50 degrees in February means all bets are off for impulse control 🐕
But when it was her turn, Kona locked in. She ran some genuinely perfect runs tonight. Weaves, tunnels, jumps, the whole thing. We were so proud.
The real MVP, though
Salsa always tags along and honestly she might love agility night more than Kona does. She parks herself on the sidelines and just… cheers. Full body wiggles, little yips of encouragement, tail going a million miles an hour. She is Kona’s biggest fan and she wants everyone to know it 🥹
The grand finale
Between runs, Kona found the last sad little patch of snow in the parking lot and just threw herself into it. Full squiggles. Rolling around like it was the best thing she’d ever discovered. By the time we loaded up the car, she was tired, happy, and a little damp. Salsa was still buzzing from all the cheering.
We got home, both dogs passed out on the couch within five minutes, and Tucker and I just looked at each other like… yeah. This is a pretty good Monday night ❤️
We can’t wait to add a little human to these Monday night adventures someday. A kid cheering from the sidelines with Salsa, sneaking bites of Tucker’s mac and cheese, maybe even running the course themselves (okay, probably not, but you get the picture).
